The Kjerag 02 is a trail running shoe developed by Kilian that's not just for race day, but also for training. It retains the DNA of the original model but has been redesigned for increased speed, comfort, and durability. It still utilizes a tested outsole and improved components throughout to deliver long-lasting performance and comfort, even after many miles. It's no longer just a Kilian shoe; it's a shoe for the speed you desire, whether that means achieving faster times, conquering trails, or simply feeling agile and energetic with every step.

The Matryx® Light Jacquard upper is a single-layer woven material made from individually coated Polyamide and Kevlar® fibers, making it three times lighter and more breathable than previous models. It is highly resistant to scratches and abrasions, dries quickly, and allows for excellent water drainage. The one-piece tongue is made from recycled (RPET) material: designed to be flatter and thinner to eliminate pressure points and enhance wearing comfort.

Midsole

EExpure+ features a newly improved Supercritical TPEE (Thermoplastic Polyether Ester) foam with supercritical gas injection, resulting in 35% higher rebound and significantly improved energy return. It's softer and more bouncy, enhancing underfoot comfort even over longer distances. It's also 40% greater in durability, with a higher resistance to foam compression set, extending the lifespan of the cushioning.

Stack Height / Rocker: The sole height has been increased from the previous model by 20 mm / 26 mm (forefoot/heel), along with an improved Rocker Geometry design for smoother weight transfer and faster forward propulsion.

Outsole

Vibram® Megagrip rubber is industry-recognized for its exceptional and durable grip on a variety of surfaces, especially wet rock. Vibram® Litebase is designed to reduce outsole thickness by 50% and overall weight by 30% without compromising durability and grip. The 3.5mm tread depth is designed for agility and good grip on various technical surfaces (though not extremely deep, the sharp design ensures excellent traction).
